This tiny and lovely three-bedroomed B&B is packed with warmth, homeliness and luxurious touches. It is found on the long sloping street from the fabulous medieval fortress – Fortaleza La Mota leading down to the historical centre of Alcala la Real.
Park on the street and receive a warm welcome as you are ushered inside. Cats sleep on the bright cushions of old wooden chairs, a comfy sofa and shelves of book invite you to peruse them and instantly make you feel at home.
Our en-suite bedroom, overlooking the road, had a gorgeous, local esparto blind and flowering plants in the window. An orchid on the table, warped wooden beams and crisp, white embroidered sheets, complete with a large bottle of water, lots of neatly folded towels completed the lovely ensemble.
Step out the back of this traditional town house and there’s nothing typical about the patio. Blue and white-themed packed with plants in pots and huge comfy wicker setee and chairs and again you feel at home – away from home.
Dinner was divine and the breakfast spread definitely the top so far this year in my ‘prettiest breakfast competition’.
A gorgeous property and lovely owners who run art courses on the premises too.
