Huelva stretches from pristine beaches to dense woodland and with its wealth of beautiful Boutique hotels is probably the least known and the least touristy area of Andalucia’s coastal provinces but it has so much to offer. Huge, long white sandy beaches, important wetlands and impressive sierras (mountainous areas.)
Tucked away, bordering with Portugal to the west and the Spanish region of Extremadura to the north my first visit to Huelva left me hugely impressed and with a great desire to return. Do not miss the stunning multi-level cave system Gruta de las Maravillas (left above) and one of ‘Spain’s Most Beautiful Towns‘ Almonaster la Real with its hilltop Mezquita (above, middle) when you go.
