The beautiful restored XIV Afan de Rivera is an absolute delight. It’s a small, chic old gentleman’s mansion down a side street and gorgeous. Built, like most of the monuments in this UNESCO town, of sandstone. It’s sturdy, squat, charming and owner-run hotel, less than a minute´s walk to the stunning main monumental plaza.
This charmingly, luxurious hotel is located just two minutes walk from Ubeda’s most famous Renaissance monumental plaza within the UNESCO designated old town. A fascinating place to explore, lots to visit, some fabulous restaurants and don’t forget Jaen pro vince still serves free tapas.
It has been delightfully and carefully renovated by the architect Eduardo Pla. Small with only five bedrooms, dinner isn’t served but book your treat of a breakfast which is served in the old wine cellar, part of which is glass-walled so you can see the original cellar and some ancient bottles of wine.
