Hotel Ordoñez Sandoval is a beautiful historical hotel that has been with the same family for generations. It´s a museum like feeling, the history and privilege of staying in this owner run family home was a joy. Step back in time and through the doors of this lovely home now slowly but surely being restored to its former glory in the Renaissance Unesco city of Ubeda.

Gorgeous original ceramic tiles lead up to the wrought iron gate – the first glimpse of arches, stained glass windows and time gone by.

With just four hotel bedrooms at present, each unique and with decor in keeping with the age and style of this gorgeous home. Ongoing restoration and renovations keep the owners busy. This is a glorious example of its day and an honour to share the generational home complete with family chapel.

Not only do you have your room key but to the wrought iron door and to the main door key, the huge, wooden double doors are locked around eleven at night. I loved the ample breakfast with tablecloths and linen napkins served upstairs in the drawing room part of the owner´s accommodation. A servant or two wouldn´t be out of place here!

Hotel Ordoñez Sandoval is a unique hotel within the lovely ancient quarter of the city. It has no car park but literally two minutes walk away is a free car park and five minutes walk brings you to the monumental centre of old Ubeda with stunning sandstone monuments, church, cathedral, Parador and much more from its heyday.
