This is easily the best, small city hotel that I’ve experienced so far. Being bijou and central it seamlessly merges the past and present, antique with modern, charm with class. Just two minutes walk from the Mezquita and on the edge of the Jewish Quarter it’s difficult to find a better hotel in a central position in Cordoba.

Cordoba, along with Sevilla, is one of my favourite Andalucian cities. Compact, flat and with so much to explore. Having visited several times, I was surprised I hadn’t noticed the Balcon de Cordoba. It is in fact quite easy to miss. One beautiful patio behind lovely black metal gates. Normally I’d have had my camera through there, but obviously I’d missed this street altogether.

The gorgeous mosaic patio, complete with orange tree and tinkling fountain stole my heart before I got through the door. And it got better. Gorgeous rooms, antique furniture, archaeological finds, fabulous roof top views, amazing suites, private terraces with loungers, dining under the stars. Need I go on. I loved every corner, each nook and cranny of this town-house converted beautiful boutique hotel.
