Well September passed in a blur. It´s very definitely autumn now, October already, with chilly mornings and evenings and hot in between. The season of adding and removing layers of clothing. My end of September deadline for a writing job was welcome, a huge sigh of relief, and then the serious effort of a weekend away to relax. I am not very good at that. When I go away I want to explore the area and see as much as possible! Trying to sit and just be is really not easy.

 

 

This month will see two new additions on the site, the promised Malaga Hills Boutique & Wellness B&B and a sneaky, last minute night away at the beautiful, rural Casa Olea. They will be up on Only Spain soon. These are two very different but fabulous stays.

One 15 minutes from the coast in the hills of Axarquia, near the lovely town of Cómpeta and the other in the Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park in the south of Córdoba province, surrounded by olive groves, a real get away from-it-all. This one is tricky to give a title to, it is more than a B&B serving great food five nights a week, and it has a bar – so to me that makes it a hotel, on the other two nights when food isn´t served it´s a B&B!

October is a fabulous month for walking and exploring with glorious sunny, but not too hot days.
