It´s Friday, it´s 5´clock…… Anyone remember what show that was? Am I showing my age? Well actually it is Thursday and 5 o´clock and I´ve just booked a stay away in a Malaga boutique hotel in the city itself – tomorrow. I´m so excited! It´s cold but sunny here in the north of Andalucia, we´ve been really busy and rather than a relaxing Saturday ahead we would have had to get up early on Saturday morning to drive down to Malaga to pick up some friends from the airport.

Not being a great early riser anytime I sort of begrudged the idea of getting up in the dark and cold to drive two hours there and two hours back (our friends just want to get to their Spanish home and not stop and have lunch out.) So it seemed like the perfect opportunity to pour over my list of ´want to visit´ establishments. My one desire was to stay in the city itself. We like Malaga more and more each visit but have rarely stayed in the centre. If you don´t know it, it is one of those rare cities that is a major metropolitan hub (Barcelona too) but on the coast.

So fine dining, tapas bars, culture, history and a walk along the beach too if one so wished. Sadly we won´t be there for very many hours – but I´m sure we will enjoy our last minute boutique hotel stay in Malaga. You´ll have to come back soon to see which one I have chosen for our overnight stop and dose of culture.
