It´s been a while since I took a jaunt for Only Spain and what a trip. The sun carries on shining (although we could really do with some rain) and the autumn colours are gearing up for a spectacular display.

My destination was one of the UNESCO twinned cities of Úbeda in Jaen province. A beautiful city with tons of Renaissance monuments, charming streets, unusual shops and fabulous fare being close to Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas Natural Park.

My destination for the night a stunning generational family home, now four bedroom hotel in the Jewish quarter of the just a few minutes walk from the main monumental plaza – Hotel Ordonez Sandoval which will soon have its page on Only Spain. If historical cities and hotels are your thing then the cities of Ubeda and Baeza should definitely be on your list to visit at least once. I´ve now lost count how many times I´ve been enchanted by them both – but I am lucky to live in Andalucia.
