From just seven bedrooms to 64 bedrooms, these three best hotels in Córdoba old city are ones I´d return to again and again. They are all strolling distance from the Mezquita and Roman Bridge, where I always park without paying, then walk to wherever I´m staying. It´s usually just a night or two – a quick break that brings us to this emotive city – as it can easily be a day trip from home, but that´s no fun.

We always like to enter the city by crossing the River Guadalquivir towards the Mezquita and Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos. If you ever get chance visit the Alcázar (to the left over the bridge) but also see the Royal Stable and if possible watch an Andalucian Horse Show there. Dancing and prancing will keep you spellbound.
Where else to Visit in Córdoba
I always like to have coffee or a beer in the enormous Plaza Corredera, an enormous rectangular square, the only Castillian-type plaza in Andalusia.
Wander and get lost in the maze of cobbled streets and you could very well find yourself peeking through the wrought-iron gate of Hotel Balcon de Córdoba and admiring its gorgeous patio with tinkling fountain and orange trees. A real classy hotel with 10 rooms and a fabulous rooftop restaurant – when the weather allows, which is most of the year.

A little further away from the Mezquita than the other two and the smaller of the three.

Hotel Viento 10 isn´t one you´d come across accidentally but it´s a real charmer. An old building brought to life and modernity seamlessly. Owner-run with only seven bedrooms it´s a welcome break from the busyness of the city.

The largest but wackiest of the three is the labryinth mish-mash of Hotel Casas de la Juderia, a conglomeration of old Jewish houses transformed into one hotel. With the patios of the various houses too – it´s not easy to find your way around, which is why each of the five old houses is each painted a different colour- get lost and tell reception what colour the decor is and they´ll come and rescue you!
